Carver, Sally S., 90, died on Thursday, September 18, 2025, at HopeHealth Hulitar Hospice in Providence. She was the beloved wife of the late Harold Carver for over 50 years. A daughter of the late Isadore and Gertrude (Zultowsky) Spiegalman, Sally was born April 9, 1935, in Putnam, CT, and lived many years in Chestnut Hill, MA. She moved to Warwick, RI, in the late 1990s, where, in recent years, she resided at Tamarisk Assisted Living and Sunny View Nursing Home.
A University of Connecticut graduate, Sally studied for her master’s degree at Rhode Island College. Over her varied career, she worked as a playwright, speech and drama teacher, newspaper editor, and stockbroker. An avid antiques dealer and collector for over 40 years who was passionate about honoring and remembering bygone ways of life, she authored a book on antique postcards and a monthly column in Hobbies magazine. Sally was a former member of Temple Emeth in Brookline, MA.
Devoted mother of Susan Carver, her husband Edward Wile, of Oceanside, NY, and Elizabeth Carver, her wife Bryn Austin of Roslindale, MA. Loving grandmother of Lucy and Ethan. Dear sister of the late David Spiegalman and Sadie Muffs.
Funeral services and Shiva will be held in private. In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to American Jewish World Service (New York, NY) or HopeHealth Hulitar Hospice Center (Providence, RI).
