Funeral services will be held on Sunday, August 3, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. in Shalom Memorial Chapel, 1100 New London Avenue, Cranston, RI 02920; Burial will follow at the Sons of Israel & David Cemetery, 401 Reservoir Avenue, Providence, RI 02910. East Greenwich Solinger, Dorothy F., a longtime member of the Saint Elizabeth Community, passed on Wednesday, July 23, 2025, 3 days before her 103rd birthday, at the remarkable age of 102 with her devoted and loving daughter by her side. She was the beloved wife of the late Samuel I. Solinger for 53 years. Born in Providence, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Lillian Leavitt, she had lived at Saint Elizabeth in East Greenwich for the last 20 years, previously living in Cranston. Providence Bender, Samuel, 109, died on July 8, 2025, at Laurelmead in Providence. He was the beloved husband of the late Shirley (Meiselman) Bender. He was born in Brooklyn, NY, a son of the late Jacob and Lena (Arria) Bendersky. He had lived in Providence for more than 10 years, but lived in Yonkers, New York for much of his life.
