Selma was intellectually curious, a voracious reader, a talented painter, and lover of art, history, classical music, opera, flowers, and carousel horses. Solomon, Marilyn Rena, 86, died Saturday, October 22, 2022 at Stein Assisted Living, Somerset, NJ. Born in Pawtucket, RI to late Louis and Ida (Meizel) Buckbinder z”l, she was the beloved wife of the late Marvin G. Solomon z”l. The family settled in East Brunswick, NJ, where Marilyn remained for 44 years. Along with her husband and family, she was a founding member of Temple B’nai Shalom, which provided a foundation in Judaism for their children. Gardos, Jorge, 91, died Thursday, October 13, 2022 at home. He was the beloved husband of Donna (Robbins) Gardos for 30 years. Born in Budapest, Hungary, a son of the late Nandor and Ilona (Desser) Gardos, he had lived in Warwick for over 30 years, previously living in Caracas, Venezuela and New York City. Jorge was a Holocaust survivor of the Budapest Ghetto and escaped communist Hungary in 1956 during the Hungarian Revolution. A concert violinist, conductor and educator, he went on to perform throughout South America, the United States, and Europe, and remained deeply committed to teaching music until the end of his life.
