He was born in Providence on July 24, 1951, the only son of the late Sally (Davis) and Burton Reffkin late of Cranston and younger brother of Leslie Anne (Reffkin) Bower of London. He was the much loved uncle of Laura and Jonathan and great uncle of Hülya, Selvi, Cora and Will. His long term companion, Darlene Plante, died in 2016.
