Bender, Samuel, 109, died on July 8, 2025, at Laurelmead in Providence. He was the beloved husband of the late Shirley (Meiselman) Bender. He was born in Brooklyn, NY, a son of the late Jacob and Lena (Arria) Bendersky. He had lived in Providence for more than 10 years, but lived in Yonkers, New York for much of his life. Dr. Bender, aptly called the Centenarian Veterinarian, was the owner and head veterinarian for the Bender Animal Hospital on Riverside in Bronx, NY and retired over 50 years ago.

Devoted father of Joel Bender, Andrea Joseph and the late Mitchell Bender. Dear brother of the late David Bendersky, Emmanuel Bendersky and Florence Meisner. Loving grandfather of 5. Cherished great grandfather of 10.

Funeral Services & Shiva were held in private.
