Eva Zucker

Zucker, Eva, 98, died Monday, September 2, 2013, at home. She was the beloved wife of the late Julius Zucker. Born in Hartford, CT, Eva was a daughter of the late Reverend Meyer E. and Annie (Long) Smith. Eva was an executive secretary at Temple Beth-El Religious School and the Southeastern Massachusetts and Rhode Island Weight Watchers. She was also a Hebrew teacher at Temple Emanu-El, retiring in 1980. Eva was a graduate of Bryant College, Class of ’36. She was a past board member of Temple Emanu-El and a member of its Sisterhood, a member of Miriam Hospital Women’s Auxiliary and the former Jewish Home for the Aged Women’s Association and a life member of Hadassah and the Providence Hebrew Free Loan Association. Eva was a past state secretary of the American Veterans Association, Rhode Island Chapter. Devoted mother of Donna Zucker of Boynton Beach, FL, Harriet “Honey” (Charles) Krasnoff of Lake Worth, FL, Diane (Karl) Sudakoff of Alpine, NJ, Samuel (Mary) Zucker of Wilder, VT and the late Susanne Zucker. Dear sister of the late Cantor Jacob Smith, Abraham Smith, Gertrude Kantrowitz, Sarah Friedman and Miriam Brown. Loving grandmother of 6. Cherished great grandmother of 6. Funeral Services will be held Sunday, September 8th at 1:30 p.m. in TEMPLE EMANU-EL, corner of Sessions St. and Morris Ave., Providence.
