Roberta Loebenberg

Loebenberg, Roberta (Barron), 98, passed away on Wednesday, April 13, 2016 at the Philip Hulitar Hospice Center. She was born in Boston, MA to Ann (Sheppy) Barron and Hiram Barron.  Roberta was an avid and celebrated knitter, knitting a good portion of her wardrobe over the years. She was a long-time member of both Temple Beth-El and Ledgemont Country Club. Roberta was an active volunteer for the Miriam Hospital Women’s Association, where she served as Secretary, Temple Beth-El’s Sisterhood, and the National Council of Jewish Women.  Roberta is preceded in death by her dear husband, Dr. Stanley T. Loebenberg and her son, Stuart J. Aaronson. Roberta is survived by her sister, Janet (Barron) Winer, of Waban, MA, her niece and nephews, Fred, Mark, and Barbara Winer, her granddaughter, Rachel (Aaronson) Auslander and her husband, James, of Arlington, VA and her adored great-grandson Joshua.  A graveside service will be held on Sunday at 10:00 a.m. at the Sons of Israel & David Cemetery, 401 Reservoir Ave., Providence. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Roberta’s memory can be made to the Miriam Hospital Women’s Association, 164 Summit Avenue, Providence, RI 02906.  Shiva will be observed at Roberta’s late residence on Sunday from 2-4 p.m.

    To My Dear Ms L, That’s what I called her..I was her friend and had the honor to have been with her for over 30 years…I loved her so much and tod her always and I know she loved me..I cry as I type this,,I loved her… I had a dream about her one night recently and decided to go visit her since lately we just talked on the phone, and I’m so happy glad that I did. I was with her two weeks ago and she looked beautiful I kept telling her so. Her reply was “I do” yes you do and always looked and was a beautiful soul..I cry and i’ll miss her..I know i’ll see her again..I love you Ms L DEE

    Thank you for allowing me to be a part of Roberta’s life. I will never forget my time spent with her and she will always be in my heart. She truly was an amazing woman. So sorry for your loss.

    I’m heart broken to see you leave but I will hold on to the memories. You and Stuart were extended family to me and I will miss you both dearly. Thank you for teaching me patience and how to be a lady. You will always be a contributor to the woman I have become. God Bless

    You will be truly missed Mrs. Roberta I will forever keep those final moments, and cherish the two years I worked with you engraved in my heart. I will miss your beautiful smile and laugh the most. It was a pleasure working with Stuart as well may he continue to rest in peace.
