Leonard A. Rotenberg

DATELINE: PROVIDENCE Rotenberg, Leonard A., 97, passed Saturday, July 17, 2021 at HopeHealth Hulitar Hospice Center. He was the beloved husband of Ruth (Limer) Rotenberg for 75 years. He was a son of the late Adolph and Jennie (Pepper) Rotenberg, stepson of George Solinger and was a lifelong resident of Providence.  He was the owner of Reliable Gold Ltd. in Providence for 58 years, retiring in 2004. Leonard was a graduate of Hope High School, Class of ’43, and attended RI School of Design. He was a WWII Army Veteran, serving in the European Theatre. Peter K. Rosedale

DATELINE:WARWICK Peter K. Rosedale, of Warwick, died on Wednesday, July 14, 2021 (his 90th birthday).  He leaves his wife of 52 years, Beverly (Costantino) Rosedale.  Born as Klaus Rosenthal in 1931 in Essen, Germany, he was the son of Otto and Martha Rosedale. Peter arrived in the U.S. with his parents on March 13, 1939 at the height of the Great Depression and just before World War II.  Although only 7 years old in 1938, he always had a vivid recollection of Kristallnacht, seeing his synagogue set on fire and early dismissal from his Jewish school because of a rumor of a possible bombing. DATELINE: LAS VEGAS, NV Cohen, Paula S., 78, passed away Monday, July 5, 2021 at Spring Valley Hospital. She was the beloved wife of Richard Cohen for 57 years. Born in Providence, a daughter of the late Rose (Shapiro) Shore, she had lived most recently in Las Vegas, previously living in West Palm Beach, FL and Merrimack, NH; she was a longtime resident of Cranston, where she and her husband Richard H. Cohen raised their five children. Paula attended Bryant University. For many years, she worked alongside her husband for Richard H. Cohen Associates, importing seasonal giftware. DATELINE: PROVIDENCE Horowitz, Irene, 99, died Thursday, July 1, 2021 at Wingate Residences. She was the beloved wife of the late Jerome Horowitz. Born in San Antonio, TX and raised in New York City, a daughter of the late Samuel and Sophie (Pinelis) Garber, she was a longtime resident of Providence. Irene was an avid bridge and canasta player, and a member of the RI Bridge Club. She enjoyed traveling the world with Jerry, and sharing her experiences while entertaining family and friends.
