Keir, Jeffrey Bruce, age 74, of Foxboro, MA, died on Friday, May 29, 2026. Born in Washington D.C., he was the son of the late Herman Keir and Harriet (Cutler) Keir-Klein. Jeffrey received an associate degree from Nassau Community College, a bachelor’s degree from Stony Brook University and a master’s degree in labor relations from UMass Amherst. His career began with the United States Federal Labor Relations Authority at the Washington, DC headquarters. He represented government workers in labor disputes all over the USA. When he moved to Foxboro, MA he worked from the Boston regional office of the same government agency. Making a major career change after leaving his government position, Jeff bought a dry-cleaning franchise, which he ran until retiring in 2010. Throughout his life, Jeffrey was a devoted leader with Big Brothers of America and proudly coached youth baseball.
Dear brother of Michele Lois Keir of RI and her husband Richard S. Blackman of Warwick, and the late Wendy Jeanne Keir. Loving uncle of Rachael Keir Blackman of MD and Benjamin Keir Blackman of CA.
Graveside services will be held Thursday, June 4, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. in New Montefiore Cemetery, 1180 Wellwood Avenue, W. Babylon, NY 11704. Shiva will be observed in private. In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to a charity* of your choice.

I knew him for a short time but we shared with each other our lives and the fear of not knowing what comes and we made our peace with it. Jeff was a kind man with a mischievous twinkle in his eye and someone quick to laugh at my poor attempts a humor. Most importantly, Jeff loved and hated the Red Sox as we all do. RIP my friend

I was so very saddened to read of Jeff’s recent passing. I first met Jeff ( and Wendy) many years ago when we were all at Wel-Met Camps together. Over the next few years both in Long Island and his early years in Maryland we kept in touch. He introduced me to his work with Big Brothers and his dedication to helping young people was so evident. He was always more than just his job. Michelle.. your painting so captures his eyes and smile… a wonderful tribute… May his memory contiune to be a blessing to all those who knew him and loved him.
