 Rotenberg, Ruth, 98, died Wednesday, October 4, 2023 at the Laurelmead Cooperative. She was the beloved wife of the late Leonard A. Rotenberg. Born in Providence, a daughter of the late Fred and Rebecca (Schwartz) Limer, she was a lifelong Providence resident. Ruth was a member of Temple Emanu-El, Miriam Hospital Women’s Association, a life member of Hadassah, and a member of the former Jewish Home for the Aged Women’s Association. She graduated Hope High School, Class of 1943, attended the former Vesper George School of Art in Boston, Class of 1945, and received a Bachelor of Arts from Rhode Island College, Class of 1981. Ruth was on the board of directors at Alperin Schechter School, and belonged to the Friends of Rochambeau Library and the National Council of Jewish Women.

Devoted mother of Rena Abeles of Providence and Dr. Fred Rotenberg and his wife, Sally, of Providence. Sister of the late Harry Limer. Loving grandmother of Sarah and her husband, Patrick, Jordan and his wife, Tessa, Benjamin and his wife, Juliet, David, and Dr. Jimmy and his wife, Naomi. Cherished great grandmother of Ethan, Noa, Dahlia, Judah, and Asher.

Funeral services will be held Friday at 10:00 a.m. in Temple Emanu-El, 99 Taft Ave., Providence. Shiva will be private. In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to the charity of your choice.
