Bruce Weinstein, 60, of Cranston RI passed away on Friday, July 15, 2022 while aboard his boat, the Fin Reaper. Bruce was doing what he loved most; leading a fishing trip on a beautiful summer day, with family by his side, when he suffered from an unexpected medical emergency.
Bruce was the beloved husband of Lynn (Monteleone) Weinstein for 35 years. Along with his brother and father, Bruce was a former co-owner of Rialto Furniture on Atwells Avenue. In more recent years, Bruce was a real estate broker, property manager, commercial fisherman, and charter captain who was always willing to share his expertise and knowledge with any client or friend who needed his help. He was also a proud member of the Rhode Island Saltwater Anglers Association.
Bruce was an amazing friend. His positive attitude, sense of humor, and passion for fishing and music helped him foster a diverse community of people who loved him all throughout the state of Rhode Island.
In addition to his wife, Bruce leaves behind his sister Nancy Mills (David) and brother Steve Weinstein (Denise), as well as his beloved father-in-law Michael Monteleone and his sisters-in-law Lisa Schwartz (Robert) and Susan Monteleone. He was predeceased by his parents, Lewis Weinstein and Raylah Reitzas Weinstein, and his mother-in-law Linda Monteleone. He was the loving and devoted uncle to nine nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 20, 2022 at 10:00 a.m in SHALOM MEMORIAL CHAPEL, 1100 New London Ave., Cranston. Shiva will be held in private. In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to St. Jude’s Children Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or House Rabbit Network, P.O. Box 2602, Woburn, MA 01888.

I am so so sad to hear about Bruce. We grew up Toby from preschool through high school. I have many childhood memories and a more recent memory from when I lived in RI when we talked and I told him two of my nephews liked fishing. He took them out on his boat and sent us pics of them with their catches.
He was so thoughtful.

Words cannot express how we feel . It filled us with sadness when we heard about you our prayers go out to your wife Lynn your brother Steve and Denise,your sister Nancy and David who we got to know very well and have grown to love them as our own family.

Please accept sincerest condolences on the untimely passing of Bruce from Tina and I and our family. Such an unexpected loss can only mean he was called home by the almighty for reasons we mortals will never know. The pain of loss will surely run it’s terrible course, but will hopefully be followed by peace and solace in knowing Bruce lived life to the fullest and left a trove of happy memories which will hopefully suppress the overwhelming grief and sorrow of his beloved Lynn and the whole family. Our hearts are broken. Ron and I had the great pleasure of knowing Bruce for many many years. He touched our lives and the lives of so many. All those who knew him will forever carry his spirit with them. Bruce was one of a kind and will never be forgotten. Bruce was a wonderful friend and a man you could trust. We spent many great days together and talked about so many subjects. The world got poorer the day God took Bruce home. I will miss him, in fact I already do.

I knew Bruce for over 20 years.During that time we struck up a great friendship. He was one of the nicest guys I’ve ever met, happy go lucky. Cup was always half full actually overflowing! He would do anything for you in a heartbeat. Every time he called me I would say what’s up Bruce on the loose he would say “hey Ron you’d appreciate this one” and proceeded to tell a story, whatever the story was about it was always full of enthusiasm. He never had a bad word to say about anybody. Everything was so positive. The world could use a lot more Bruce’s. I am going to miss him so much but when we meet again I’m going to say what’s up Bruce on the loose and he’s going to say “you’d appreciate this one Ron”. I’m going to miss you pal Rest In Peace!
