Leonard D. Pearlman

Leonard D. Pearlman, age 91, of Los Angeles, California, formerly of Sarasota, Florida, Cranston, Rhode Island, and Great Neck, New York. Beloved and devoted husband of 33 years to the late Karen S. Pearlman. Loving father of six children: David Pearlman of the island of Cyprus and New York City, Karen and Janet Pearlman, both of New York City, Laurie (Paul) Park of Upper St. Clair, PA, Ellin (David) Becker of Sonoma, CA, and Stephanie (Tom) Levin of Los Angeles, CA. Adored grandfather of Robert and Jenny Park and Jack and Will Levin.

Born in Fall River, Massachusetts, Len was raised in Providence, Rhode Island. He was the seventh of eleven children of the late Ida (Mines) and Israel Pearlman. Predeceased by siblings Alice Mandel, Ben Pearlman, Tom Pearlman, Elaine Baron, and Lila Delman. Survived by siblings Anna Shabshelowitz, Marc Pearlman, Adele Curhan, Alan Pearlman, and Carolyn Leighton.

Len graduated from Proctor Academy in New Hampshire and the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, where he studied Business Administration. During college, he spent a year in the newly-established State of Israel working on a kibbutz and helping to build the country’s infrastructure. Len was a lifelong supporter of Israel and many Jewish organizations.

Len spent his career working for Lafayette Radio Electronics in Syosset, New York. Beginning as a trainee in Human Resources, he rose to become the Chief Executive Officer of the company.

Len enjoyed reading, tennis and racketball, cheering for the University of Michigan football team, poker, travel, dad jokes, and good food — especially Chinese food and chocolate cake.

As a family leader, he and his late wife Karen organized many memorable extended family reunions, planning every detail for everyone’s convenience.

A warm and generous man with a big heart, Len lived a long, full, and active life and will be deeply missed.

Services for Mr. Pearlman were held in private.
