I worked at Paramount Restaurant Supply from 1978-1981. I had the pleasure of associating with Arthur and I can tell you that he was one of the nicest and friendly persons that I had met at that point in my life. Arthur was truly “one of a kind” and always had an interesting story to tell you. I also had the pleasure of having his Son Steven work for me during the Summer months when he was not in school and you could see that the apple didn’t fall far from the tree. The world has lost a good man but we had the pleasure of his wonderful personality for 91 years. RIP Arthur!

I knew Arthur all my life, it seems. I have no recollection of ever not knowing him. He was always the outgoing, sensible, funny, responsible, just nice person you needed and wanted to see.
Truly one of the good guys is gone, and even though I haven’t seen much of him and Judy in the last few years (my loss), I have been thinking about him constantly since I heard the sad news.
Judy and Steven and Lori and Rhonda, my heart goes out to you all.

    Dear Judy and Family,

I was so saddened to learn of “Mr. Bergel’s” passing. I always loved spending time with you both at Narragansett. He had such a wonderful sense of humor and those twinkling eyes! I could never bring myself to call him Arthur (even as an adult when he wanted me too). You will always be “Judy and Mr. Bergel” to me. My deepest sympathy and love.

Leave a Condolence
