Markoff, Arthur M., 89, of Andover, MA, died Thursday, July 11, 2013 in Sutton Hill Center, North Andover. He was the beloved husband of the late Connie (Roberts) Markoff. Born in Providence, a son of the late Allen and Lillian (Bachman) Markoff, he had lived in Andover since 2011, previously residing in Windham, NH and Westport, CT. Arthur was the co-owner of Roberts Furniture in Greenwich, CT for 25 years and previously worked for Paramount Line in Pawtucket for 18 years. He was a WW-II army veteran serving in the European Theater. Arthur was a graduate of Brown University, Class of 1944. He was an avid fan of professional sports, especially the Boston Red Sox. Devoted father of Joan Lippa and her husband, Andrew, of Andover, MA and Marjorie Warmkessel of Millersville, PA. Dear brother of the late Burton Markoff. Loving grandfather of Alex and Justin Lippa. A graveside funeral service will be held Sunday at 11:00 a.m. in SONS OF ISRAEL AND DAVID CEMETERY (Temple Beth-El Cemetery), Reservoir Ave., Providence. In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to Merrimack Valley Hospice, 360 Merrimack St., Bldg 9, Lawrence, MA 01843. Shiva will be private.
