Sylvia Weinstein

Weinstein, Sylvia, 96, died Monday, June 1, 2020 at Aston Gardens at Pelican Marsh. Born in Providence, RI on May 20, 1924, she was the beloved wife of the late Irwin Weinstein, daughter of the late Morris and Sophie (Prebluder) Shore and sister of the late Claire Shore, Edward Shore, Blanche Shore, Rose Berlin and Shirley Weisman. Previously living in Highland Beach, FL, Houston, TX, Pompton Lakes, NJ and Cranston, RI, Sylvia was a graduate of Hope High School and was a former longtime member of the Temple Emanu-El Choir in Providence.
Devoted mother of Mark Weinstein (Linda) of Bonita Springs, FL, Debbie Levin of Boca Raton, FL, Marjorie Olerio (Matthew) of North Kingstown, RI and Tamara Cannon (Jim) of New Hope, PA. Loving grandmother of Michael, Nikki, Danni, Matthew, James and Shayna and great-grandmother of ten, Sylvia loved to sing, loved to dance and had a special zest for life throughout all of her 96 years.
Funeral services will be private with burial in Lincoln Park Cemetery in Warwick, RI. In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to Hospice Foundation of America www.hospicefoundation.org.

Suzanne and I are so sorry about the loss of your Mom, the amazing, beautiful, and effervescent Sylvia!! We loved to spend time with her and she was family for me, Suzanne, John-John, and Brittany. Sylvia was a second Grandma for our kids! I hope that you all can spend some special time right now as a family to share your love and your special memories of Sylvia. It seems like yesterday that it was the 1970′s of family boating, Tamara’s theater and Margie’s amazing singing voice at Cranston East, Proms, and Narragansett Beach, and more recently with connections with Mom and Mark in Naples, all with your mom’s guidance…..so very sorry about the loss of your mom as we will all miss her laugh, smile, and insight into the world…

Ray and I are so sorry in the passing of your mom! Fond memories are always what gets us through the sad times.
I remember with such fondness all the leftover passover meals I had at your home! I remember you saying, hey Camie, my mom has so many leftovers want to come to my home for lunch today?! I still speak of those times to my friends.
Your mom was such a sweet lady! Full of love and life! And a great cook and baker!
