Lorraine Weissman

Weissman, Lorraine, 94, died Wednesday, October 30, 2019 at home. She was the beloved wife of the late Hyman Weissman. Born in Brooklyn, NY, a daughter of the late Harry and Anna (Goodstein) Kurzer, she had lived in Cranston for over 25 years, previously living on the east side of Providence. Lorraine graduated from Hunter College with a BA in Fine Arts and was an avid artist and seamstress. She was a member of Temple Beth-El and former member of Crestwood and Ledgemont Country Clubs.  She was also a member of her book club for 56 years and enjoyed playing bridge and canasta.

Devoted mother of Karen Weissman and her husband, Steven Pomerantz, of Danbury, CT, Beth Jerome and her husband, Granger, of Tiverton and Jerry Weissman and his former wife, Suzanne Smith, of Wheat Ridge, CO. Dear sister of Alvin Kurzer and his wife, Roz, of Cranston. Loving grandmother of Joshua and Lauren. Cherished great grandmother of Vincent and Francis. Loving aunt to Adam, Hilary, Arjan, Lee and Margie.

Graveside services will be held FRIDAY at 2:00 p.m. in Sons of Israel & David Cemetery, 401 Reservoir Ave., Providence. In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to the charity of your choice.  Shiva will be private.

    Dear Beth and family, Our thoughts and prayers are with you all at such a sad time. Your Mom was a lovely person and she loved you all. She is at rest and we pray that your love of family and friends will help you get through this. Please accept our deepest
