Kassed, Dorothy, 98, of Palmer Avenue, Mamaroneck, NY, died Wednesday, May 8, 2013, in Mamaroneck. She was the beloved wife of the late Frank Kassed for 68 years. Born in Providence, a daughter of the late Louis and Sophie (Rosenberg) Grossman, she had lived in Warwick before moving to Mamaroneck several years ago. Dorothy was the owner of Providence Shoe Box and worked in a shipyard in the 1940′s and the former Outlet Company in the 1950’s. She was a member of Hadassah, Warwick Seniors, Jewish War Veteran’s Auxiliary, and a former member of Temple Torat Yisrael. Devoted mother of Dr. Marvin Kassed and his wife Janice of New Port Richey, FL and Linda Baer Nieberg and her husband Dr. Lewis Nieberg of White Plains, NY. Dear sister of the late Jack and David Grossman and Rose Revzon. Loving grandmother of Dr. Cheryl Kassed, Steven Kassed and Robert Kassed, David Baer, Adam Baer, Wendy Schramm and the late Jeffrey Kassed. Cherished great grandmother of 8. Adored great great grandmother of 3. Funeral services will be held Sunday at 11:00 a.m. in SHALOM MEMORIAL CHAPEL, 1100 New London Ave., Cranston.
