Esther Lansberg
Lansberg, Esther, 84, of West Allenton Road, died Friday, May 3, 2013, at South County Hospital. She was the beloved wife of the late Richard F. Lansberg. Born in Cairo, Egypt, a daughter of the late Abraham and Sonia (Cohen) Hakim, she had lived in Massachusetts for 27 years, before moving to North Kingstown 24 years ago. Esther was a teacher in Cairo and a substitute teacher in the United States. She was a past president and life member of the Charles River Chapter of Hadassah, where she was “Woman of the Year” in 1979. Esther was an avid knitter, calligrapher, needlepointer, embroiderer and painter. Devoted mother of Albertina “Tina” Warren and her husband Jerald of East Greenwich, Sonia Lansberg of Fullerton, CA and Helene Rudowsky of Hampton Falls, NH. Loving grandmother of Rachel and Robbie. Graveside services will be held Sunday, May 5, 2013 at 2:45 p.m. in SHARON MEMORIAL PARK, Sharon, MA. In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to Hadassah. Shiva will be private.
