Harie Raisman

Raisman, Harie, 82, died Friday, November 2, 2018 at Cherry Hill Manor. Born in Providence, the daughter of the late Martin and Sadie “Tex” (Garber) Ross, she had lived in Johnston, previously living in Ajijic, Mexico and Warwick. Harie was the beloved mother of Lisa and Stephen Sacks of Millbury, MA, Karen Raisman and Louis Barbato of Johnston, Kim and Mike Ellery of East Greenwich, and Greg and Elizabeth Raisman of Portland, OR. She was the dear sister of Allen Ross and his wife, Sandra, of Greenville, RI. Loving grandmother of Danielle, Derek, Alicia and Megan. Cherished great grandmother of Oaklei. She also leaves behind her dear Fugawi Tribe sisters…Rose Gergel, Sondra Price and Trudy Katz. In addition she also leaves many, many additional friends that she adored. Harie played bridge with the Warwick and Smithfield Bridge Clubs and enjoyed painting, playing canasta and was up for any adventure that anyone proposed. Harie attended a variety of classes at Lifelong Learning Center (LLC) and was an advocate at the RI State House for Death with Dignity.   A memorial service will be held SUNDAY, November 4th at 11:00 a.m. in SHALOM MEMORIAL CHAPEL, 1100 New London Ave., Cranston. In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to Death with Dignity National Center, 520 SW 6th Ave., Ste. 1220, Portland, OR 97204.  Shiva will be private.

    We are so deeply saddened to hear of the loss of your mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, and friend. She held many titles and many people in her heart. Lucky are we to be able to say we met her.     Our deepest sympathy on the loss of your Mother, Grandmother and Family members. She was always at one of the Jewish Holidays at her dear friend Rose Gergel, my sister, she always had interesting stories to tell / may she now Rest In Peace.
