Irene Hershey

Hershey, Irene, 93, died Monday, February 6, 2017 at Hopkins Manor.  She was the beloved wife of the late Herman Hershey. Born in Bronx, NY, a daughter of the late Eugene and Mollie (Fettman) Schiller, she had lived in Providence for 19 years.  She was a clerk at Jewish Board of Family and Children Services in Bronx, NY for 17 years.  Irene was a former member of the Odd Fellows.  Devoted mother of Steven Hershey and his wife, Leslie, of Pawtucket, Joanne Hershey of Co-op City, NY and the late Richard Hershey.  Dear sister of the late Edward Schiller.  Loving grandmother of Alex Hershey and Noah Hershey and his wife, Allie.  Graveside services will be held Tuesday at 1:00 p.m. in Beth David Cemetery, 300 Elmont Rd, Elmont, NY.  In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to The Jimmy Fund Clinic, PO Box 849168, Boston, MA 02284.  Shiva will be observed at 15 Paris Street, Pawtucket, RI on Wednesday and Thursday 2-4 & 7-9 p.m., Friday 10 a.m.-12 noon, Saturday 7-9 p.m. and Sunday 2-7 p.m. and 120-18 Co-op City Blvd, Bronx, NY on Wednesday-Friday and Sunday 10 a.m.-2p.m.
