Ida Goldstein Paster

Paster, Ida Goldstein, 104, of 222 Beechwood Drive, died Sunday, September 18, 2016  at home. She was the beloved wife of the late Leonard Paster.  Born in Boston, MA, a daughter of the late Samuel and Anna (Sentler) Goldstein, she had lived in Cranston for 8 years, previously a longtime resident of Pawtucket.  Ida was a member of Temple Beth-El and its sisterhood.  She was a founding member of the Crestwood Country Club and an active member of numerous charitable organizations.  Devoted mother of Sandra Strauss and her husband, Justin “Jay” Strauss of Cranston and the late Lorna Osiason and her husband, Burt, of Tampa, FL.  Dear sister of the late Aron Goldstein and his wife, Barbara. Loving grandmother of Lauren Blum and her husband, Paul, of NY, Dr. Andrew Osiason and his wife, Dr. Fran, of NJ, Lori Smith and her husband, Richard, of MA, Amy Quinn of RI and Neal Osiason and his wife, Sherri, of FL.  Cherished great-grandmother of Jared and Allison Smith, Matthew, Eric and Cristian Hogberg, Brett and Ethan Quinn, Nathan, Eliza and Liana Blum and Jason, Eden and Jacob Osiason. Adored great-great grandmother of four beautiful girls, Ava, Hannah, Sophie and Kerrin Hogberg.  Her family would like to thank Ida’s eight caregivers for their dedication over the past few years. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. in SHALOM MEMORIAL CHAPEL, 1100 New London Ave., Cranston.  In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to Hope Hospice and Palliative Care, 1085 N. Main St., Providence, RI 02904 or your favorite charity.  Shiva will be observed at her late residence Wednesday from 7-9 p.m. and Thursday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m.

    On behalf of the Biron family, we are very sorry for your loss. Unfortunately my parents nor I will be able to make it to her services. Dad passed 10 years ago and mom is now in a nursing home battling alzhimers. We all loved nanna. She is a part of us and will be missed dearly.

      Thank you for your note. Ida was a great lady. I am sorry to hear about your parents. I remember spending weekends at the house on Sayles Ave with my great-grandmother. My grandmother Sandy would like to get in touch with you and your brother. Can you provide your email and/or phone number.
