Chaika, William Y., 79, of Hallworth House, died Sunday, July, 24, 2016 at Hallworth House. He was the beloved husband of the late Elaine (Ostrach) Chaika. Born in New York, NY, a son of the late Sol and Mildred (Cohen) Chaika, he had lived in RI since the early 1950’s. William was a founding partner of the law firm of Chaika & Chaika, retiring in 2011 after 50 years in practice. He was a past master of Roosevelt Lodge of the Masons and an avid pool player. Devoted father of Eric Chaika of Warwick, Daniel Chaika of Providence and the late Jeremy David Chaika. Dear brother of Barbara Reich of Plymouth, MA. Loving grandfather of Benjamin, Jonathan, Rebecca, Alan and Sarah. A Memorial Service will be held Thursday at 1:00 p.m. in the Redwood Chapel at SWAN POINT CEMETERY, 585 Blackstone Blvd., Providence. In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to Providence Animal Rescue League, 34 Elbow St., Providence, RI 02903. There will be a  celebration of his life at 75 South St., Providence from 3-6 p.m. Thursday. Shiva will be private.
