Joslin “Jos” Ross

Ross, Joslin “Jos”, 91, of Cliffside Dr., died Monday, July 18, 2016 at home. He was the beloved husband of the late Thelma “Tek” (Klitzner) Ross.  Born in Providence, a son of the late Louis and Sarah (Bernstein) Ross, he was a longtime resident of Cranston. He was the Vice President of Finance for Klitzner Industries in Providence for 35 years, retiring in 1990.  Jos was a World War II Navy veteran, serving in Pacific Theatre as a 3rd Marine Division Radio Man.  He graduated from Central High School and Bryant College. Jos was member of the former Temple Beth-Israel and Temple Beth-El.  He was also a member of the Masons and Quidnessett and Ledgemont Country Clubs.  Devoted father of Lynn Field and her husband, Alan, of North Providence and Dyann Ross and her husband, Eric Stein, of Fairfield, CT.  Dear brother of the late Ann Levin.  Loving grandfather of Ryan and Brendan Malloney and April Stein.  Cherished great grandfather of Shoshana and Levi Stein. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 11:00 a.m. in Shalom Memorial Chapel, 1100 New London Ave., Cranston.  In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to the Jewish War Veterans of RI, PO Box 100064, Cranston, RI 02910 or your favorite charity.  Shiva will be observed at Temple Torat Yisrael, 1251 Middle Road, East Greenwich on Thursday from 7-9 p.m. with a minyan service at 8:30 p.m.

    I am sorry to hear about the passing of your dad. I have enjoyed being a neighbor to him and his wife over many years. I will miss seeing him sitting in his yard and stopping an talking to him many days. My sincere sympathy to your family.

    We shared a golf cart just last week. He was active and he enjoyed playing and could still hit it with authority. He will be missed by all of us. My sincere condolences to the entire Ross family.
