Kotlen, Robert A., 88, died Tuesday, August 18, 2015. He was the beloved husband of Betty (Basok) Kotlen of Cranston. They were married for 35 years.  Born in Providence, a son of the late Harry and Pauline (Abrams) Kotlen, he had lived in Cranston for 17 years, previously living in Providence. He was the owner of the former Standard Jewelry in Providence, retiring 30 years ago. Robert was a WW-II Navy veteran. He was a member of Temple Beth-El, a 32^nd degree mason, and a graduate of Brown University, class of ’49, earning membership in ΦBK. Devoted father of Lisa Kotlen of Bristol, Lori Stark (Drew) of Eilat, Israel, Richard Kotlen of Middletown, and step-son David Basok (Corinne) of Huntington Beach, CA. Loving grandfather of 6. Cherished great-grandfather of 3. Funeral services will be held Friday at 11:00 a.m. in SHALOM MEMORIAL CHAPEL, 1100 New London Ave., Cranston.  In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to the RI Jewish Historical Association, 130 Sessions St., Providence, RI 02906 or your favorite charity. Shiva will be observed at 40 Sachem Dr., #305, Cranston on Friday 2-4, Saturday 7-9, and Sunday 2-4 & 7-9 p.m.
