Bernard, Emile N., 94, of 3702 Terrina St., Austin, TX, died Monday, May 4, 2015, in Austin. He was the beloved husband of Beverly (Broomfield Seiden) Bernard for 17 years. Born in Poland, a son of the late Max and Fay (Zilberpfennig) Bernard, he had lived in Canada and Boca Raton, FL before moving to Austin 9 months ago. Emile was President and CEO of Carson-Charvez Co. in Toronto, Canada, which was a national distributor for Olympus Camera Co., until his retirement in 1986. He was a graduate of Technion Hebrew Institute of Technology in Israel. Emile was a combat veteran in the British Army in WW-II, serving in North Africa. He also fought for the Israeli Haganah. He also was a Mason. Devoted father of Jacqueline Bernard of Waterport, NY and step-sons Jeffrey Seiden and his wife Nancyellen of Austin, TX and Mark Seiden of Hartsdale, NY. Dear brother of the late Henry, Simon and Leon Bernard. Loving grandfather of Margo, Stephanie, Sofie and Max. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 1:00 p.m. in SHALOM MEMORIAL CHAPEL, 1100 New London Ave., Cranston.
