Morton J. Pomerantz

Pomerantz, Morton J., 87, died Saturday, February 7, 2015 in Delray Beach, FL.  He was the beloved husband of Annette (Silverman) Pomerantz.  They were married for 63 years.  Born in New York City, a son of the late Jack and Rebecca (Schoenberg) Pomerantz, he had lived in Warwick since 1992, previously living in Cranston. He was an insurance salesman for Prudential, retiring in 1982.  Morton was a WW-II Army veteran. He was a member of Temple Sinai, the Jewish War Veterans, and was on the board of directors for West Bay Residential Services.  Devoted father of Paul Pomerantz and his wife, Judith, of Sharon, MA, Jill Goodman of West Warwick, Lynne Pomerantz of Johnston, and the late Sheldon Pomerantz.  Dear brother of Sandra Diamond of Sudbury, MA and the late Florence Steiner.  Loving grandfather of Lindsay, Reuben, and Nathan.  Funeral services will be held Friday at 11:00 a.m. in SHALOM MEMORIAL CHAPEL, 1100 New London Ave., Cranston.  In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to West Bay Residential Services, 158 Knight Street, Warwick, RI 02886.  Shiva will be observed at 6 Starling Way (off River Farm Dr.), West Warwick, Friday 2/13 from 2-4, Saturday 2/14 6-8 p.m. and Sunday 2/15 2-4 p.m.

    I loved Uncle Morty, and he was a very important part of my life. He has a special place in my heart. I will miss him.

    Dear Honey and Family,
    We were so saddened to hear of Mort’s passing. My mom, Claire Bauer, was reminiscing of so many good times from long ago with her, my Dad, Richard Bauer, you, Honey, and Mort….(Mom is still doing really well and will be 89 and going in July!!!).
