Anttio, Lois J., 73, died Wednesday, October 1, 2014 in Spain. Born in Providence, a beloved daughter of the late Harry and Nellie (Levine) Moseff, she was a lifelong Warwick resident. She was a Warwick school teacher for 37 years, retiring in 2001. Lois volunteered at both Providence Performing Arts Center and at Ronald McDonald House. Devoted mother of George Marc Anttio of Warwick and David Joshua Anttio of Palm Bay, FL. Dear sister of Barbara Moitoza of Coventry. Loving grandmother of Lucille Paisley Anttio. A memorial service will be held Tuesday at 3:00 p.m. in SHALOM MEMORIAL CHAPEL, 1100 New London Ave., Cranston. In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to the Ronald McDonald House, 45 Gay St., Providence, RI 02905. Shiva will be private.

Your Mom was a very courageous woman never complaining
as she fought this incurable disease . I was fortunate to know
her, help her & care about her. I had the honor to meet David
& beautiful Lucy who was the joy of her life & Lucy’s mom. She was so happy to be a bubbie.
She loved to cruise & travel & see the world. She never gave
up. Lois loved both of you very much you meant the world to her.
She will be missed by all who knew her & loved her.

Dear George, David and Family: I knew your Mom, Lois, in Florida. We had become close friends and I am going to miss her terribly. She was so kind, generous, thoughtful and funny. Lois was so happy to have Lucy around this past year! Our sincere sympathy is with you all at this very sad time.

Lois and I volunteered together at the Ronald McDonald for almost as long as the house has been open. She was a wonderful person and very dedicated to the mission of this organization. She will be missed. Her acceptance and grace in in dealing with her illness was inspirational. Please accept my deepest condolences.

A deep loss is felt by all who knew Lois. Always with a smile on her face no matter how she was feeling. How poignant for her passing to be abroad, as we all knew her love for traveling. My condolences to her sons and close friend Kathy.

I had the pleasure of knowing Lois for the past 6 years, living literally underneath her in West Palm Beach.
She was so brave and with all she was going through, never lost
her vivacious personality or sense of humour. Even in the hospital, she made a visit feel just like it was just a regular get-together.
Little Lucy brought a lot of joy into her life and I had the pleasure of meeting the baby and her parents shortly before I left West Palm Beach. She was so proud and excited to be a Bubie.
She will be missed terribly by The Boomer Girls, her Mah Jongg group,and all her friends and neighbours in Century Village, West Palm Beach.

Dear Anttio family,
Your mom was one of the most courageous and extordinary people I know. She was one of my closets friends. I miss not speaking to her each night, even if we spent the day together, we still had so much to to say. I count myself lucky to be able to call her friend.
She adored Lucy and fought so hard to live for her. I hope Lucy will keep her Grandmother in her heart, as all who know her will.

How sad I am to hear about the loss of Lois, a friend from way back when, living in my Bubbie Schechter’s home on Gordon Avenue in Providence. Lois was an outstanding friend, a marvelous person, and an exemplary role model who made this world a better place. Sharing an apartment with Lois in New York while we went to graduate school was a memorable experience I am proud to have experienced. Keep her in your hearts forever.
Dear Anttio Family. I am Lois’ Cousin. I was born just days after her and her bubie was my great aunt. My bubie was her bubie’s sister. As I grerw up I saw Lois almost every week as my mother Dot was very close with Nellie and Harry. We also went to the same schools until we graduated high school. Whenever I would see her after she was married we always enjoyed seeing each other and our past always meant we were very close. I also saw her many times at the PPAC and would seek her out if I didn’t see her at the top of the aisle. She was a very loveable, courageous and strong person with all she dealt with in her life. I am very sad to her of her loss and will remember her always. Please accept my sincere sympathy at this very trying time. May God bless you all and help you through this. I lost Nellie and then a year or so later my motherDot died. They were very close even living in the same housing unit on Birch Street.

I was shocked to get GMark’s call. Like most of her friends, I knew about her struggles with health issues this past year. Even knowing she was ill, she was positive about life. She loved you both and was thrilled with her new granddaughter. We were traveling companions and friends for over twenty years. We talked on the phone almost daily. It hasn’t hit me yet. Soon something will happen and I’ll think “I’ll call Lois” and realize she’s gone.

I taught with your mother ages ago at Warwick Neck School in Warwick. Lois was a great friend to me in those days. In fact- she was pregnant with you- David – when I was pregnant with my son. We had such talks!!!
We had so much fun on our Friday lunches- she, Lorraine Matheson, Ed Vitalo, & myself. Those were the days!
After that I saw Lois occasionally when we went to PPAC, but I’ll never forget those days at Warwick Neck!
