Siegel, Dr. Maurice A., 90, of 175 Hoffman Ave., died Saturday, May 4, 2013, at Philip Hulitar Inpatient Center. He was the beloved husband of Jean (Peirce) Siegel for 62 years. Born in Providence, a son of the late Harry and Sophie (Trutt) Siegel, he had lived in Cranston for 53 years. Dr. Siegel was a dentist in private practice in Providence for 53 years, retiring in 1999. He was a WW-II Army veteran serving stateside as a 1st Lieutenant in the Dental Corps. Maurice was a graduate of Providence College and St. Louis University, Class of ’46, where he received his DDS degree. Lansberg, Esther, 84, of West Allenton Road, died Friday, May 3, 2013, at South County Hospital. She was the beloved wife of the late Richard F. Lansberg. Born in Cairo, Egypt, a daughter of the late Abraham and Sonia (Cohen) Hakim, she had lived in Massachusetts for 27 years, before moving to North Kingstown 24 years ago. Esther was a teacher in Cairo and a substitute teacher in the United States. She was a past president and life member of the Charles River Chapter of Hadassah, where she was “Woman of the Year” in 1979. Esther was an avid knitter, calligrapher, needlepointer, embroiderer and painter.
