
Levine, Nan D., passed on Monday, January 27 at the age of 94. Born in Jamaica Plains, NY, she was the daughter of the late Beatrice and Alfred Goldstein. Married to her late husband, Donald for 60 years, she was the mother of Sheri Levine Singer, Marc and Carrie Levine and Neil Levine. She was the cherished grandmother of Matthew Singer and Amber Carey, Scott and Olivia Singer, Julia Levine and Connor Levine and loving great-grandmother to Ford and Hunter. Nan was the beloved sister of Martin Goldstein and devoted aunt of David and Wendy Goldstein and Steven Goldstein, great-aunt of Emily and Rachel Goldstein. Loving and dear friend of Irwin Schorr.
A graduate of Hofstra University, Nan cherished her long life in Providence as a sought after interior designer, a lifetime Board member of Temple Beth-El, President of the National Council of Jewish Women and the Providence Preservation Society. Despite her many accomplishments in her life, what Nan cherished most was the love of her family and the joys she received from her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
The funeral will be held on Thursday, January 30 at 1 PM at TEMPLE BETH-EL, 70 Orchard Avenue, Providence. Burial will follow in Sons of Israel & David Cemetery (Beth-El Cemetery). In lieu of flowers, donations in Nan’s memory may be made to Temple Beth-El, Highlands on the East Side and Home and Hospice Care of RI/Philip Hulitar Inpatient Center. Shiva will be immediately following burial at Temple Beth-El.
Nan leaves a legacy of leadership and commitment to our community. May her memory always be a blessing.

Sheri, I just watched your mom’s service on Zoom from California and felt like I was there. Thank you for doing that.
You had a very special mom and she was a very special friend to my mom for many many years.
My sisters and I will always make “Nan’s Chocolate Cake” in the special pan.
It was wonderful to see her a few times over the last few years.
