I will miss Uncle Jerry so much. A warm, generous and kind man who went out of his way for you. On a trip to D.C. one year, he took time out of work to be our guide around town. He even came to make sure the hotel was safe. Apparently it had once been a bit more risqué.
A kind soul who will be more than welcomed in Heaven. My condolences to his family, Marilyn and Sandy.
I had the privilege of working with Jerry at the National Park Service. He was so kind, so helpful to all. He adored his family, and they him. Rest in peace dear friend.
I had the pleasure of knowing Jerry as we both grew up in a Pawtucket neighborhood.

I worked with Jerry as his printing assistant. I am now the printing officer for the National Park Service. Jerry taught me everything I know. I enjoyed working with him. I talked to him after the New Year and I was able to tell him that I appreciate everything he taught me. I am where I am today because of Mr. Buckbinder. He will be missed. Marilyn take care of yourself. Thanks for calling me.
Uncle Jerry,
You will truly be missed. You were such a loving and joyful man. You loved giving us grandniece and grandnephews hugs and kisses. You were such a giving man, and I hope that one day I can try to be like you. It was always a pleasure to be around you. I love you so much and miss you!
Love you too Auntie Marilyn and Uncle Sandy.
Sandy,
My deepest sympathy for the loss of your dear brother.
You remain in my prayers.
Fondly,

Marilyn and Jerry’s Beautiful Family,
I remember checking the calendar when it got close to Jerry’s birthday. I couldn’t be late in sending his card. Knowing the great emphasis Jerry placed on birthdays or whatever the occasions were for remembering his family and friends he would not and could not be late. Jerry had a heart full of love and his first thought was family and friends.
Jerry was forever thankful for his sister Marilyn’s love and care for the family and especially grateful for her love and care for him.
I remember the quick lunches we shared just to get out of the office. Jerry was an articulate man yet a simple lunch at Costco was enough. He was content with his simple apartment in Virginia and appreciated everything.
I first met Jerry in 1992 while working for the National Park Service. A man of great character and a charming smile he will be loved and remembered.
God’s grace to you and your family. – Love, Patty Cakes 2/19/15
I worked in the Washington, DC office of the National Park Service from 1986-1994 and I worked with Jerry on a number of publications. I haven’t seen him in years, but I clearly remember him as a very nice guy who really knew his stuff. I will miss him and I’m sure I’m not alone.
Jerry helped me navigate the world of federal printing rules and regs. I always appreciated his advice and guidance.
We were so very sorry to learn of Jerry’s passing.
I worked with him at the National Park Service and he was terrific; always kind; always helpful. He loved his family. He had physical pain but rarely let on. He would do anything to help. A very special light has gone from us. My prayers will be with him and with his family. Emogene Bevitt
He was a dear friend and a wonderful colleague. I will miss him dearly. Terrie Fajardo
I was very saddened to hear of Jerry’s passing. We were neighbors for many years at Fillmore Garden in Arlington, VA. He would take in my mail when I travelled and I would do the same for him. I was very happy to help him when he injured his foot because I knew he would do the same for me if I needed help. It was always comforting to know he was close by, and I really missed him when he moved to NJ. He always remembered me on my birthday, and at Christmas. Rest in peace, my friend.
It was a delight to have known Jerry. I will cherise the memories of the short conversations we had in passing while working at the National Park Service. May you find comfort in knowing that Jerry touched many with his kind ways and gentle spirit.
With heartfelt sympathy,
Cheryl Vaughn

I am so sad to hear of Jerry’s passing. I was just thinking about him the other day, wondering how he was doing. I think about him often. I worked with Jerry occasionally, when I would ride into D.C. on the commuter train, with a big fat briefcase full of historic furnishings reports from Harpers Ferry Center to print. Jerry was always so kind and accomodating! He always asked me about my trip, gave me suggestions on where to have lunch and what to see while I was waiting for the report to go into galleys. He was just the nicest man, and the sweetest man to work with. I will miss Jerry, even though I haven’t seen him for years. My prayers and thoughts are with his family and friends during this time. I know Jerry will be missed because he was such a wonderful human being! Godspeed, Jerry.
Every memory I have of him includes a huge smile, a tight hug, and a big wet kiss. He carried love into the room every time he came in, and I will never forget it. I cherish him so much. His smile in this picture brings joy to my heart. I cannot wait to see him again. Lots of love to the family. Praying for everyone.
My family and I are very saddened to learn of the passing of Jerry. My parents mailed him a holiday card as they had done for many years and when it was returned, they asked me to check on Jerry. I was so sorry to find his obituary. He was a good friend of my uncle, John R Sword. John worked at The Dept. of the Interior. When my uncle passed away in 1986, Jerry was a true rock for my family, helping us through and walking beside us, even literally at times. One such memory is of Jerry walking the route John walked home from work with us after a memorial service at The Dept. of the Interior in fall 1986. Jerry will always be remembered very fondly by our family. Thinking of your family. Sincerely, Debi Carbaugh Robinson
