Lili Krongold

DATELINE: WESTERLY Lili (Malewanczyk) Krongold was born on October 20, 1921 in Tczew, Poland.  She passed away on October 8, 2021, just 12 days shy of her 100th birthday.  A Holocaust survivor, she was a person of great strength, leonine courage and an indomitable spirit.  Everyone who knew her, loved her.  IT was impossible not to admire her for her honesty, her sense of humor, her kindness and for never ever backing down when her principles were at stake.  From the ashes of tragedy, like the phoenix, she rose, unbent, to make a life with her husband George and daughter Elizabeth in Rome, Italy and subsequently, in the United States, after WWII.  Her passing is a loss which cannot be measured. DATELINE: Richmond Friedland, Zachary J., 31, passed away on Friday, October 8, 2021 at home, surrounded by his family. He was the beloved son of Kevin Friedland and Beth Dworetzky of Richmond, RI and cherished grandson of Florence Dworetzky of White Plains, NY. Born in Plymouth, MA, he had lived in Richmond for 16 years, previously living in Hadley, MA. He completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Rhode Island, earned his Master’s Degree from the Longy School of Music at Bard College and his Doctorate in Musical Arts from The Ohio State University. He was a lifelong member of KKΨ, the National Honorary Band Fraternity. DATELINE: WARWICK Goldblith, Linda “Lindabyrd”, 78, passed away on Thursday, September 30, 2021 at Kent Hospital. She was the beloved wife of the late Errol Goldblith. Born in Bronx, NY, a daughter of the late Martin and Lillian (Goldstein) Ward, she had lived in Warwick and Cranston for over 50 years. Linda was an emergency services clinician for Cranston, Johnston, and Kent County Mental Health Clinics, retiring in 2001. She also owned Needlemania, where she specialized in various needlecraft arts. Linda was a talented weaver and a member of the RI Weavers Guild.
