Kaplan, Deborah, 76, passed away on Monday December 22, 2025, in her home surrounded by her family. She was the beloved wife of Murray Kaplan for 57 years.
Deborah was born in Providence, RI and was the daughter of the late Albert and Anna (Goldman) Yuloff, she had lived in North Scituate since 1980, previously living in Cranston. She started her career at Rhode Island Hospital Trust National Bank and eventually became co-owner of the former Rainbow Bakery in Cranston, Rhode Island with her husband Murray. Deborah was a former member of Temple Emanu-El, helping as a volunteer. She also was a lifetime member of Hadassah and the Rhode Island Women in Business Organization.
Deborah was the devoted mother of Scott Kaplan and his wife Heather of North Scituate, RI and granddaughter Marielle Kaplan of Irvine, CA, Melissa Kaplan of Norwich, CT, and Anne R Kaplan and her husband Ronald Pacciano of Bardonia, NY and grandson Benjamin Kaplan.
Funeral Services will be held Wednesday December 24th at 11:00 am at the Shalom Memorial Chapel, 1100 New London Ave, Cranston, RI. Shiva will be observed at her family residence, 112 Sandy Brook Rd in Glocester, RI on Wednesday and Thursday afternoon. In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to the Hope Alzheimer’s Center 25 Brayton Ave. Cranston, RI 02920.

Dear Murray and family,
So sorry to to hear of Debbie’s passing.
She was a lovely and sweet woman.
Her memory is truly for a blessing.
My Dad, Mel Korman, would tell me iconic stories about my Uncle Barney, my Aunt Leah, and I got to know my cousins at many family gatherings – over the years. So, I grew up with my Kaplan cousins, Faye, Ava, Danny and Murray , and later attended many family events with my cousins and later with their husbands or wives. Debby Kaplan, now the wife of my cousin Murray, was beautiful, witty, thoughtful about many things and when I was kind of in middle school got to know Scott, and Michelle, and a bit later, Annie. I really liked being around Debby, who was always trying to get to know all the families and liked to chime into the family conversations. When I got to see Debby and Murray’s kids, the Korman kids were a bit older, I and treasured watching Scott, Michelle, and Annie grow up. Always wishing we could get together more often. Just some nice memories with Debby and Murray’s family. With Debby’s life devoted to Murray, the bakery, the temple and of course, her kids, the Debby I knew was iconic, kind, thoughtful, religious, and at times capricious – often filled with intellectual humor and always interested in what we were interested in. In a world where married people just do not always stay together, wow, Debby and Murray ….. just a great couple. The word I think swirls around when I think of Debby, is “always.” They were the iconic “always,” which with the great Kaplan spirit is how I will always remember my cousin, Debby.
