Friedman, Sally
Friedman, Sally, affectionately known as Sal, passed away peacefully at the age of 96 on Tuesday, December 16th at South Kingstown Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was the beloved wife of the late Isadore Friedman for 46 years. Born in Chelsea, MA, Sally graduated from the Comptometer School of Boston. After her marriage, she became a longtime resident of Providence, RI. After the passing of her husband, she moved to Shalom Apartments in Warwick, RI where she formed many friendships. Sally enjoyed knitting, crossword puzzles, reading and playing bingo. Her favorite passion was following the Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots. But most of all, she especially loved spending time with her family.
Devoted mother of Marilyn Hochman (Alan), Gerald Friedman, Janice Karnes (Richard) and Joseph Friedman (Lisa). Loving grandmother of Jason Hochman (Mor Perets), Samuel Karnes, Danielle Sands (Hayden), Jonathan and Grant Friedman. Cherished great grandmother of Avital, Aviv and Jackilyn. Aside from her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her siblings, Isabelle Blaustein and Harold Cobb.
Funeral services will be held Thursday December 18, 2025 at 11:00 am at SHALOM MEMORIAL CHAPEL, 1100 New London Ave., Cranston followed by internment at Lincoln Park Cemetery. Shiva will be observed at 14 Arciero Court, Narragansett at the home of Janice and Richard Karnes on Thursday 7-9p, Friday 2-4p and Saturday 7-9p. In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital and Tunnel to Towers.
