Rakhlin, Mark
Barrington
Mark Rakhlin, 61, of Barrington, Rhode Island, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, June 7, 2026 surrounded by his closest family.
Mark was the beloved husband of Tatyana (Nakhamkina) Rakhlin, with whom he shared 38 wonderful years of marriage, friendship, and adventure. Born in Omsk, Russia, he was the cherished son of Galina (Bykova) Rakhlin and the late Valeriy Rakhlin. He lived in Saint Petersburg, Russia, before immigrating to the United States in 1995, residing in Providence and later making Barrington his home in 2000. In addition to his loving wife, Mark leaves behind his mother, Galina Rakhlin of Barrington, RI; his devoted son, Ilya Rakhlin, daughter-in-law, Kasie McKenzie and cherished grandson, Philip Rakhlin, of Attleboro, MA; and his sister, Natasha Rakhlin, of Grosse Pointe, MI.
Mark graduated from St. Petersburg State Marine Technical University in 1988 with a Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering. He went on to build a successful career as a businessman and entrepreneur.
Family and friends were at the center of Mark’s world. He was a devoted husband, loving father, proud grandfather, and loyal friend. He also had a deep love for travel and the outdoors. Mark looked forward to camping trips on Cape Cod, enjoyed hiking in the mountains, and loved swimming in the ocean no matter how cold the water was. One of his favorite traditions was mushroom picking, a pastime he learned as a boy with his grandfather in the forests around Omsk and continued throughout his life with his beloved wife and son.
Mark will be remembered for his adventurous spirit, warm heart, sense of humor, and the love he shared with those around him.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday June 10, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. in the Redwood Chapel at Swan Point Cemetery in Providence, RI.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Mark’s memory may be made to The Lung Cancer Research Foundation www.lungcancerresearchfoundation.org
Sending all of my love and support to the Rakhlin family in their time of grief.
