Robinson, Ellen A., 83, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 3, 2026, at VITAS Hospice, Delray Beach, FL. surrounded by the love of family and friends. She was the devoted companion of Harvey Edelstein, whose companionship brought her great happiness.
Born in Providence, Rhode Island, Ellen was the beloved daughter of the late Rudolph and Lillian (Levine) Volpe. She treasured her childhood summers in Onset, Massachusetts, and later created countless cherished memories with her children and grandchildren on Cape Cod, a place that always held a special place in her heart.
Ellen worked as a travel agent, helping others explore the world while cultivating her own love of adventure, people, and new experiences. She had a remarkable gift for making everyone feel welcome and valued. Her warmth, kindness, and infectious sense of fun drew family and friends together throughout her life.
She found joy in life’s simple pleasures: spirited games of Mah Jongg, cards with friends, painting, water aerobics, and relaxing by the ocean. Whether at the beach, around a card table, or in the company of those she loved, Ellen’s vibrant spirit shined brightly.
Above all, Ellen was a devoted and loving mother and grandmother. She leaves behind her cherished children, Gary Robinson and his wife, Natalie, of Franklin, Massachusetts; Michael Robinson and his wife, Mara, of North Attleboro, Massachusetts; and Jamie Berman and her husband, Garrett, of Cranston, Rhode Island. She was the dear sister of Susan Volpe Glass of Marina Del Rey, California.
Nothing brought Ellen greater pride or happiness than her seven beloved grandchildren—Lauren, Todd, Madison, Jacob, Victoria, Lindsay, and Mia—who knew her lovingly as “Grammy.” She delighted in their accomplishments, treasured every moment spent with them, and filled their lives with unconditional love, encouragement, and countless happy memories.
Ellen will be remembered for her generous heart, her enduring friendships, her love of family, and the warmth she shared so freely with everyone fortunate enough to know her. Her presence brightened every room, and her memory will continue to bring comfort, smiles, and love to those she leaves behind.
Graveside services will be held Monday, June 8, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at Sinai Memorial Park, 100 Harrison Avenue, Warwick, Rhode Island. Shiva will be observed Monday from 1:30 to 5:00 p.m. at 151 Bretton Woods Drive, Cranston.

So sorry to hear the sad news about my friend Ellen. She lived near me in Providence, and we finally met again in Banyan Springs, Florida. We spent many good times together playing canasta, talking about our families, showing pictures, and having a good time with her and Harvey. I have not been home this entire week and miss saying good-bye to her. My loving thoughts go to Harvey and the family.
Thank you so much for being part of moms life. She really enjoyed her life in Florida and how important her friends were to her.

Ellen was a beautiful person who made those around her feel included and loved. She told me she thought I was sent to help her at the end of her life’s journey, I am only sorry I didn’t know her longer. She was so special.

I have such great memories of your mom! Ellen always had a smile on her face. She loved her place at the cape, and I think she was an influence on our decision to buy a place of our own in Brewster. Your mom was always the wiser one when we were parenting Jamie and Michelle…and I learned lot from her!
