Shuchman, Rachel, 91, died Sunday, August 17, 2025 at Riverview Healthcare Community. She was the beloved wife of the late Diez Shuchman. Born in Pawtucket, a daughter of the late Joseph and Anna (Goldstein) Nathanson, she was a lifelong Warwick resident. She was the head librarian at the Rockefeller Library at Brown University, retiring in 1991. Rachel’s passions were reading and her wildflower garden.

Devoted mother of Neil Isaac Shuchman of Orlando, FL and Daniel Alexander Shuchman and his wife, Diane, of Coventry. Dear sister of the late Morris, Abraham, Shirley, and Nathan Nathanson. Loving grandmother of Eva, Anna, Jason, and Serena.

Graveside services will be held Friday at 11:00 a.m. in Lincoln Park Cemetery, 1469 Post Rd., Warwick. Shiva will be private. In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
