Steve and Cyndee were the loveliest people and we at Temple Beth Tefilloh were blessed to have them in our congregation as snowbirds and some other times as well. He was a mensch and exhuded a deep sense of humility and caring concern for others.

So sorry that they both had significant health challenges in later years and that Steven ultimatelty lost his battle – praying for Cyndee to survive her struggles.

We hold you all in our thoughts and prayers in the weeks ahead.

Ann and I want to send our deepest condolences to Cyndee and the family for the loss of Steve.
It has been a little more than 46 years since we were first introduced to Steve.
During the time that Steve was my coworker and mentor we also became the greatest of friends.
Even with his health issues, Steve remained an inspiration until the very end as he never lost his sense of humor, wit, spirit or positive non-quit attitude!
Despite having lived thousands of miles apart for years, we always managed to stay in touch.
I will miss our frequent conversations and our occasional get togethers.
There are so many great memories that both Ann and I have of our times spent with the both of you.
Cyndee, may you find comfort and peace in knowing that Steve touched many people in a most positive way and that he will be missed and not forgotten.
You will always be in our thoughts and prayers.
If there is anything we can do to help, please do not hesitate to ask.
    Love, Mike (Zeke) and Ann

Steven was a very important person in my young life. We both lived on Ninth Street, went to Summit Avenue School, Nathan Bishop and Hope High together. My Mother had a soft spot for him and called him Hopalong Horowitz. Everyone loved Steven and he was very special to us all. I send my most sincere sympathy to his family and friends at this difficult time. I am sure that his memory will be a blessing.

Steve was a special person and a best friend for over 55 years. He was a people person if there ever was one. Steve had a warm and magnetic personality – seemed to make new friends wherever he went. He loved his family to the ends of the earth.
Steve truly met his soulmate in Cyndee. What a wonderful couple.
