Sapers, Frances M., 98, passed away on Monday, February 17, 2025, at Kent Hospital, with her loving family by her side. She was the beloved wife of the late Merton M. Sapers for 72 years. Devoted mother of Mark W. Sapers and his wife, Joanne, of Merrimack, NH, Ronda L. Smith and her husband, Robert, of Boca Raton FL and Warren, RI, Joanne D. Sapers and her husband, Dave Parmentier, of Warwick, RI, and Karen B. Rozell and her husband, Ralph, of Sandwich, MA. Dear sister of the late Melvin S. Wax, Estelle Saphirstein, and Shirley Baron.

Fran was truly the matriarch of our family and was lovingly respected and adored. A proud and classy lady, always dressed to the nines, would be seen taking her morning and afternoon walks daily, always greeting people with a smile and asking how they were. It was always a priority for Fran to see and know what was going on in the lives of her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. She was an inspiration to all that knew her. Her passions included current events, history, bridge, reading, and her beloved Red Sox and Patriots.
For many years, Fran worked as an insurance administrator, broker, and sold long term care insurance. She was a former member of Falmouth Jewish Congregation and a past board member of its Sisterhood.
To understand the depth of love that Fran experienced in her life is to know about her 72 year marriage with her devoted husband, Mert, who carried Fran’s picture in his wallet every day of his life.
Most important to her was her family. Fran lived a long, full life and we will miss her dearly.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, February 20, 2025, at 12 noon in SHALOM MEMORIAL CHAPEL, 1100 New London Ave., Cranston. Shiva will be private. So many memories at 11 Drew Rd, so many times hundreds of miles away picking up the phone to hear Aunt Fran say,”How are you dear? How is Bruce and Aaron? How good to hear your voice.”
I know there are no words to make your loss any easier, so we join our thoughts and prayers with others in our hope that with your memories you may find peace. Bruce, Aaron and I say what reflects her life: Zecher Tzadikah L’vracha. With all those who love her, her memory will surely be a blessing.
