Golden, Marcia, 91, died Saturday, June 22, 2024, at the South County Hospital in Wakefield. She was the beloved wife of the late Shelton Golden. Born in Providence, a daughter of the late Harry and Jenny (Belford) Zakoff, she had lived in Narragansett and Hallandale Beach, FL, previously living in Cranston. She was a social worker and Senior Rate Analyst for the State of RI for 37 years, retiring in 1995. Marcia was a member of Congregation Beth David.
Devoted mother of Brent Golden and his wife, Laurie, of Narragansett. Dear sister-in-law of Paul Golden. Loving grandmother of Lynzie Ford and her husband, Sorran, Joshua Golden and his wife, Emily. Cherished great grandmother of Shiye, Sloan, Jett, and Caroline. Dear sister of the late Edith Perlow, Estelle Hodosh and Evelyn Gersten.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, June 25, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. in the Priest Chapel in Lincoln Park Cemetery, 1469 Post Road, Warwick. In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to the National Kidney Foundation, Gift Processing at National Kidney Foundation HQ, 30 East 33rd Street, New York, NY 10016 or American Parkinson Disease Association, PO Box 41659, Providence, RI 02940. Shiva will be observed at the home of Brent and Laurie, 2 Lee Ann Drive, Narragansett, Tuesday, June 25, 1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m., A Shiva service will be held at 7:00 p.m.

Marcia is also survived by her son, Jeffrey Golden and his wife Robyn of Cranston. Grandmother to Erica Golden of Cranston and Michelle Rader and her husband Scott of Saratoga, New York. Great-grandmother to Reese Rader and Emersyn Rader.

My heartful condolences to the entire Golden families. I was so saddened to learn of Marcia’s passing. We were close friends with your parents for many years therefore the good memories will always be remembered.

I will forever miss you. Not only were you my aunt but you were my best friend and my confidante. You finished my sentences for me when the words didn’t come. I will miss your beautiful smile every time someone walked into the house to visit you and your warm hugs which were so comforting. Now you are with the love of your life.
