Jim, Gail, and the entire Segal family, I’m so sorry to hear of your great loss. Sending love and prayers for healing.
Phil was a senior docent at the Roger Williams Park Zoo when I, recently retired, joined the docent staff. Phil was an ideal mentor, he knew most everything about our zoo, zoos, the animals and how to make the guests happy, yet was always joyfully eager to learn new things. . .and it wasn’t only zoothings in which he mentored me. It was Phil who told the the secret to a sane and happy retirement was to find something exciting to get you out of the house every day – even if it’s only for a brief time. Nearly a decade has passed since we met; I cherish – and follow my lessons from Phil and my life is richer for it.
