Merrilyn L. Shlesinger
Shlesinger, Merrilyn L., 79, died Saturday, June 19, 2021 at home, surrounded by family. She was the beloved wife of Morton Shlesinger for 54 years. Born in Providence, a daughter of the late Frank Brown, Clara (Cohen) Brown, and step-daughter of the late Mildred Brown, she had lived in Cranston and North Providence. Merrilyn was a member of B’nai B’rith and an avid Mah Jongg player.
Devoted mother of Edward Shlesinger and his wife, Darlene, of Cranston, Andrew Shlesinger and his wife, Mary, of Acton, MA, and the late David Shlesinger. Dear sister of her twin, Sandra Garfinkel, and her husband, Richard, of Cranston and sister of Steve Brown. Loving grandmother of Kaylee, Kyra, Nicholas, Abram, and Eden. Cherished great grandmother of Stella.
Funeral services will be held Thursday at 11:00 a.m. in SHALOM MEMORIAL CHAPEL, 1100 New London Ave., Cranston. Contributions may be made to Down Syndrome Society of RI, 100 Washington St., Unit #325, West Warwick, RI 02893. Shiva will be private.

My “Auntie Merry” always went out of her way to make me feel special, she’s such a big part of some of my earliest, happiest childhood memories. Sandy, Eddy, Andy and Mort-I’m so sorry for this tremendous loss. I will miss her so very much.
