Mrs. Feldman was the sweetest, kindest and such a gentle soul. She was so caring & ahead of her time as our principal & member of our community.
May her memory be a blessing & please always remember all the lives she enriched – including mine.

How I loved this amazing woman! She was wise, beautiful, generous and loving, a role model for gracious aging. My life (and so many others) was better because she was in it.

Esther was everything that is right and good in our world. I met her when a student at Rhode Island College, teaching a French lesson to her first grade class. Esther was my teacher, mentor, model and friend for the next 55 years – a treasure beyond measure in my life. Her words and actions reflected wisdom, kindness, strength and love – and my walk through life has been greatly enriched by her loving presence. I am so honored to have shared her life and so grateful that this amazing woman shared mine.

Mrs Feldman was an extraordinary educator. I was blessed to have her as my principal and coworker. She never asked you to do more than she would do herself. She truly helped me become the best teacher I could be. I always fondly remember her and she will be sorely missed.

Mrs. Feldman was not only a wonderful principal but a wonderful woman. She spurred teachers – that was her job, which she did marvelously. At the same time she supported parents, encouraging us, being there when we needed support. My children thrived at Varieur; and decades later, when she was visiting a relative in Anchorage, my oldest child and I visited with her. We remembered her of course, but she remembered us too! What a lovely person!
