Lax, Marvin William, 70, died Sunday, December 17, 2017 at Mass General Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Rhonda (Matzner) Lax for 47 years. Born in Newark, NJ, a son of the late Frank and Florence (Jacobs) Lax, he was a longtime resident of Pawtucket. He was in the financial planning industry for over 45 years, retiring in 2015. Marvin was a member of Temple Beth-El, its brotherhood, and its bowling league. He was a member of Touro Fraternal Association, Redwood Lodge of the Masons and its softball league, and B’nai Brith, in which he was very active. He was an avid tennis and golf player. In addition, he earned his BA from Roger Williams College. Devoted father of Ryan Alan Lax and his wife, Margaret, of Hope. Dear brother of Reneé Phon and her husband, Thomas, of West Orange, NJ and Hinda Berger and her husband, Joel, of Lake Worth, FL. Loving grandfather of Noah, Jacob, Jamison, and Harrison. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. in Temple Beth-El, 70 Orchard Ave., Providence. In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to American Diabetes Association, 260 Cochituate Road, #200, Framingham, Massachusetts 01701. Shiva will be observed at his late residence, 16 Dorset Rd., Pawtucket, Wed. 7-9, Thurs. 2-4 & 7-9, Fri. 2-4, and Sat. 7-9 p.m.

Dear Mrs. Lax, Ryan, Margaret, Noah, Jacob, Jamison, and Harrison. My sincerest sympathy is extended to you all. I have fond memories of you all at Crestwood CC. Always greeted with a warm bear hug, and wonderful conversations of everyday happenings will be memories cherished. A true friend who sincerely cared.
