Jerry Einhorn

Einhorn, Jerry, 85, died Saturday, July 22, 2017 at Philip Hulitar Inpatient Center, Providence. He was the beloved husband of Doris (Krieger) Einhorn for 62 years. Born in New York City, NY, a son of the late Samuel and Pauline (Cook) Einhorn, he had lived in Warwick since 2016, previously living in Delray Beach, FL for 17 years. He was a Korean Conflict Army Veteran, serving in Korea. Jerry was a product developer for Hasbro Industry for 26 years and Alcraft for 15 years, retiring in 1999. While at Hasbro, he was one of the original creators of the GI Joe action figure. Jerry was a graduate of Dewitt Clinton High School, Class of ’49. He attended certifications from Bryant and Brown Universities. Jerry was an avid sports fan. Devoted father of Debra Shapiro and her husband, Joseph, of West Warwick, Steven Einhorn and his partner, Cindy Bishop, of Warwick and Robert Einhorn of North Providence. Dear brother of the late Joseph and Abraham Einhorn. Loving grandfather of Kristen, Troy, Dale, Daniel and his fiancée, Rachel, and Jonathon and his wife, Meg. Cherished great grandfather of Jacob and Brayden. Graveside services will be held Friday at 10:00 a.m. in RI Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 301 South County Trail, Exeter. In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to the Hope Hospice & Palliative Care, 1085 North Main Street, Providence, RI 02904. Shiva will be observed at 25 Meggan Court, West Warwick, Wednesday and Thursday 2-4 & 7-9 p.m.

Jerry was a true gentleman and friend. He mentored me when I began my career at Hasbro. He always had a smile and kind advice. We worked many Toy Fairs together. My prayers are with him and all of you! God Bless!

Ron and I are sending our sincere condolences to the Einhorn family. Jerry was an amazing person and we both learned so much from him during our years at Hasbro. My mom, Gert Gagnon, was a Hasbro employee but remembers Steve Einhorn, and said that he was so good to her and her co-workers at Hasbro. Thank you to the Einhorn family. May Jerry rest in peace.
