Girard, Paul H., 67, died Friday, July 14, 2017. He was the devoted husband of Sheryl (Jurmann) Girard for 30 years and beloved father of Frederich Girard of Newport Beach, CA. Dear brother of Albert Girard (Janet) of Maryland, Charles Girard (Pat) of Cumberland, RI, Marie Morin (Roger) of Cumberland, RI, and brother-in-law Jerry Lipet of New Hampshire. Born in Providence, a son of the late Charles and Noella (Provost) Girard, he had lived in Narragansett for 23 years, previously living in Warwick. He retired as an accountant and loved his part-time job at Barnes & Noble in Warwick, where he worked for the past 25 years. Paul graduated from La Salle Academy, Providence College, and earned his MBA at Bryant University. He was a member and Past Master of Charity Lodge #23, Free & Accepted Masons as well as Nathanael Greene Lodge #45. Paul was an avid sports fan, especially the Red Sox and Patriots, and loved playing trivia and politico games with friends. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. in SHALOM MEMORIAL CHAPEL, 1100 New London Ave., Cranston. In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to the charity of your choice. Shiva will be observed at 50 Seaport Drive, Narragansett, Tuesday, 6-8 p.m.

Sheryl and Fred, we are shocked and saddened to hear of the loss of Paul. He was a wonderful man, husband and father. Please know that our thoughts and prayers are with both of you and your family at this time.
Paul was one of the most liked people I can remember. Always able to to talk about any subject well and very thoughtful. Best wishes to the family.
Sorry to hear of Paul’s passing. This came as a shock when we heard it on the news. Our prayers are with yoi both.
Sorry for your loss. I worked with Paul for 9 years at Barnes and Noble. It was an honor and privilege to work with Paul and he was by far, one of the most dedicated and passionate booksellers that I ever managed. You are in my prayers.

I was just speaking with Paul 4 weeks ago. He was telling me about the beach pass, etc. It was a shock to see his name last night.
Unfortunately, I cannot be at the Chapel today but want you to know you are in my thoughts, prayers and heart.

I worked with Paul for many years at Barnes & Noble. I always enjoyed my conversations with him. I know he was so proud of Fred and all his family. I am deeply saddened by this great loss of such a wonderful man. You are in my thoughts and prayers.
