Adele Cohen

Cohen, Adele, would have been 102 on May 15th, of Greenwich Farms, died Thursday, May 12, 2016 at Sunny View Nursing Home.  She was the beloved wife of the late Leo Cohen. Born in Worcester, MA, a daughter of the late Ira and Eva (Goldsmith) Bernstein, she had lived in Warwick for 14 years, previously living in Cranston and Providence.  She was the owner of the former Monogram Shop in Providence. Adele was a former member of Temple Emanu-El and its Sisterhood, and enjoyed volunteering at the temple library. Devoted mother of Phyllis Freedman of Lincoln and Joseph Cohen and his wife, Suzanne, of Narragansett.  Dear sister of 3 predeceased siblings.  Loving grandmother of five.  Cherished great-grandmother of seven. Funeral services will be held Sunday at 1:00 p.m. in the Priest Chapel in Lincoln Park Cemetery, 1469 Post Road, Warwick.  In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to Talking Books, 1 Capitol Hill, Providence, RI 02908.  Shiva will be observed at Greenwich Farms, 75 Minnesota Ave., Warwick on Sunday from 2:30 -4:30 p.m.
