Goldstein, Stanley M. “Si”, 99, of North Dartmouth, passed away at home Friday, November 6, 2015, after a long period of declining health. Born in New Bedford, a son of the late Harry and Bluma (Levine) Goldstein, he was a lifelong resident of Dartmouth. He participated in the family business, Harry Goldstein and Sons, Inc. for 52 years, retiring in 1980. He was a WW-II Army veteran, serving in the European Theater. Si was a past president of the former Ahavath Achim Synagogue, a member of the Jewish War Veterans Post 154, New Bedford Jewish Convalescent Home, Jewish Federation of New Bedford, B’nai B’rith, Tifereth Israel Congregation and the Lions Club. He supported numerous charitable organizations and worthy causes at home and abroad. Dear brother of Ruben Goldstein of Dartmouth and Eleanor Manhan of Calabasas, CA. Cherished uncle of several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. He was the companion of the late Barbara Mickelson and dear friend of Mary Schwartz of Dartmouth. Funeral services will be held Monday at 1:00 p.m. in TIFERETH ISRAEL CONGREGATION, corner of Brownell Ave. and Hawthorn St., New Bedford. In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to the charity of one’s choice. Shiva will be observed at 93 Old Westport Rd. Monday 7-9, Tuesday and Wednesday 2-4 & 7-9 p.m.
I met Si at the schwartz center for children several times while he was visiting the children. Such a kind and generous man. We all appreciate him donating his land for the Schwartz center to build our school on, thank you Si, RIP.
So very sorry to hear this sad news. Although we couldn’t see him as regularly as we would have liked, Si was often in our thoughts. He will be greatly missed.

I miss you so much. You will always be in my thoughts and prayers. You stole my heart . I will never forget you or your wonderful compassion,and most of all the wonderful lessons you shared . Thank you for sharing your warm and wonderful family. I miss your bear hugs too.
