OBITUARY FOR BEATRICE SCHAFFER

DATELINE: Providence

Schaffer, Beatrice, 86, of 153 Isabella Ave., died Wednesday, November 4, 2015, at South County Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, North Kingstown. She was the beloved wife of the late Philip Schaffer. Born in New York, NY, a daughter of the late Philip and Bessie (Hoffman), she had lived in Providence for over 60 years. Beatrice was a sales associate for J.C. Penney Co. for over 20 years, retiring 5 years ago. Devoted mother of Jill Schaffer and Barbara Schaffer, both of Providence and the late David Schaffer. Dear sister of the late Alfred and Harold Hoffman and Martha Lazeroff. Funeral services will be held Sunday at 10:00 a.m. in SHALOM MEMORIAL CHAPEL, 1100 New London Ave., Cranston. In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to the American Heart Association, P.O. Box 417005, Boston, MA 02241 or the American Parkinson Disease Association, P.O. Box 41659, Providence, RI 02940. Shiva will be observed at her late residence, Sunday, immediately following burial.

    Mrs. Schaf always shared her love and grace with me. I am happy and fortunate to have known her. A sad day, but, a good time to count your own blessings. She blessed us all. Rest in peace. Say hi to my buddy….
