I was employed at the Colonial Pharmacy for a few years
part time while attending High School. Mr. Koslow was
one of the best Employers to work for in the early 60′s.
He gave all the neighborhood kids a chance to make extra money while going to High School.
He allowed us to hang outside for we always had respect
for his business as we never caused any trouble.
I have always had fond memories of Mr. Koslow’s Pharmacy.
My condolences to the family. I know they have lost a great
    Husband and Father.

I worked with Harold at the Eleanor Slater General Hospital ; I worked with psycho-geriatric patients and would often stop in his office to inquire about various medications. I always remember him as a kind, gracious man who freely shared his wealth of information. Though my questions were very basic for a man of his pharmaceutical expertise, he took the time to explain the most basic information.
After our “work talk”, we would discuss local restaurants we had frequented and critique them.
He had a terrific sense of humor and had an easy laugh.
Though I have not seen him since the late 1990′s, I have never forgotten him and I extend my sympathies to his entire family.
Never knew he was married to Harriet at age 20; whenever he spoke of her, his eyes would like up like a newlywed.

    Dear Harriet:
Please accept my deepest sympathy as I will miss Harold an awful lot. He was my mentor and taught me so much when I worked at the Drug Store for 10 years while attending Hope High School. He treated me like a son and watched over me even helping me buy my first car. I worked with Tom, Dave and Harold. I have met him several times and his smile would make you feel like a million dollars. Please know that all of us mourn his loss but are happy for Harold if he is in a better place. May God ease you and your family pain with this terrible loss.

Harriet and “kids,” I JUST saw this. You will remember my mom Frances (Oster) Berger, whose mom was Ida Weisel Oster and Joe Berger. Thinking of all the times at the beach and with Haskell and Madeline. Very sorry to hear this news and very sorry I just got this news.

I worked for Harold at Colonial while in high school. He’d give me a ride home, since we both lived in Cranston. I feel that Harold was one of the positive influences in my life. In a real sense he helped me to grow up. Working at Colonial after school kept me from some traditional activities and clubs that meet during those hours but I wouldn’t trade the experience for anything. I’m privileged to have known Harold, and Harriet, and Tom and Dave, and of course Franklin and Cathy, whom I knew since childhood. It was Franklin who originally suggested I go to work for his dad. I hope this message reaches some of them, late as it is. I haven’t lived in RI in almost 40 but for some reason I was moved to search for Harold. Sad as I am to learn of his passing, I’m pleased to know that he had such a long and full life.
