DATELINE: PROVIDENCE Altman, Leonard J., of Oak Hill Health and Rehabilitation Center, died Wednesday, January 11, 2017 at home. He was the beloved husband of Myrna Altman for 67 years. Born in Providence, son of the late Samuel and Jennie (Salk) Altman, he was a lifelong resident of Providence.  He was a salesman for the Kent County Times and a radio announcer for W.E.A.N., retiring in 1975.  Leonard was a WWII Army veteran, serving as a Staff Sergeant in the Pacific Theatre. He was the beloved husband of Rosella “Cookie” Shwartz and the late Sylvia (Goodin) Jarcho.
